Synopsis

Sita, a young Cambodian teenager, lives with her mother and two sisters in the neighbourhood of Côte-des-Neiges in Montréal. She has many responsibilities as this year's Cambodian New Year coincides with the prestigious Paul Gérin-Lajoie dictation contest of which she hopes to win the regional grant. To add to her list of worries, Aki Yeak, demon of fire, threatens to thwart all her efforts when he intrudes upon her daily life. Will Sovann Bopha, astral apsara, be able to save her?

Xu-Ming Lor was born and raised in Montréal, Canada. He studied Fine Arts at Central Saint-Martins College of Art and Design in London, UK. His last short film Aniccam was selected in numerous festivals including the 39th Rendez-Vous Québec Cinéma. He is presently writing his first feature which received funding from SODEC, CALQ and was selected at the Forum de Namur.
