Laure Giappiconi, Romy Alizée
France

Self-taught photographer, performer and director, Romy Alizée didn't go to art school but to a theater school, as well as many other field trainings. After years of modelling for male photographers, she quickly took over photography to tell a subjective story of emancipation, desire and lesbian identity, throught her own image and her community's. In 2022, she co-wrote with Marianne Chargois the performance "Gaze.S", a feminist & radical manifesto about sex work issues, acted as an actress for Alexis Langlois (Les Démons de Dorothy) and Lucie Borleteau (À mon Seul desire) and published BAD WESTERN, a first comic book.  At the same time, she is a portraitist for the newspaper Liberation and she is preparing a radio documentary supported by La Scam.

Laure Giappiconi trained at the École nationale supérieure des arts et techniques du théâtre (ENSATT). As an actress, she favors productions in which she plays an active part, usually from the writing stage. Recently, she played in Denis Côté's Un été comme ça, in official competition at Berlinale 2022, and Lucie Borleteau's A mon seul désir, to whose screenplay she contributed. She also writes shows, performances and films. Tandis que je respire encore, co-directed with La Fille Renne and Elisa Monteil, was presented in 2020 at the Sundance and Rotterdam festivals. Her first novel, Et d'abord le regard, was published in May 2021 by Editions Anne Carrière.
