Laurence Olivier is a filmmaker and writer originally from Quebec who now lives in British Columbia. Her fiction film Summer 2000 won the Iris Award for Best Short Film at the Gala Québec Cinéma and the Grand Prix National du Jury at the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma, among other awards, and her film Phantom Poem won First Prize in the experimental category at the Vues dans la tête de festival. She is the author of the novel Répertoire des villes disparues, adapted for the screen by Denis Côté, and her poems, stories, and short stories have won awards in Canada and France.
