If cinema were a religion, Karim's gods would have been P.T. Anderson, Werner Herzog, Errol Morris, and Abbas Kiarostami. Since his studies in mathematics, followed by film studies, Karim has devoted himself entirely to cinema. Having co-founded Némésis Films, he directed three short films, a feature-length documentary entitled Masse Mystique.
